40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: EDIT

Old friends keep crossing paths and i'm glad to see that they're still wishing it was the old days. But i'm wondering if we're all moving on, or thinking about what it would've been like if we stayed the same. One more night alone is the last thing that we need because everything else is way too temporary. So i'll meet you at the diner at 11 o'clock and we'll start to talk about the old days, because we both know we're not happy with the new ones. Keep holding on to everyone that makes us happy.

nights we didn't sleep
Untill the end,
i'll keep these memories inside.
They're the ones that keep me young

2009

I know it's a bit late but pretty much every blog i read has posted some kind of "best of" list for 2009. So, here's mine, records first.

Apologies I Have None - Two Sticks & Six Strings
Rumspringer - S/T
Banner Pilot - Collapser
Teenage Bottlerocket - They Came From The Shadows
Iron Chic - Shitty Rambo
William Elliott Whitmore - Animals In The Dark
Various - The Savage Sound Of... 4 Way Split

Because i'm too lazy to write a zine.

So, here goes, blog post number 1.

For years i have wanted to to put out a zine, nothing special, or radical not even with the intention of getting other people to read it, just something to document the places i have been, the people i have met and everything i have been a part of. Countless times i have sat down to write page one, create a layout, design a front cover or simply come up with a name just to sit back and read what i have written, feel like a complete dork, screw it up and and take a shot at the bin.

Hence this blog.

I have taken the easy way out. I have it in my mind that if i can get away with writing small snippets as and when they happen it will some how be easier to compile in to something more cohesive. Plus knowing i don't have x amount of pages to fill it is a less daunting task. (Saying that i signed up for this blog in November it is now Feburary and about the 5th revision of post no. 1)

I have seen so much shit, and have so many stories to tell, some barely believable unless you were there to witness it, yet with the exception of some beer stained ticket stubs, a hand full of badly composed photo's and a bunch of hazy drunken memories, i have nothing to show for it. I spend an abnormal amount of time reminiscing about the past and reciting stories to people who already know the outcome that i have come to realise my memory isn't as reliable as i once thought. So with that in mind i thought it was about time i actually did something constructive... Here goes!

What to expect in the future:

Good stories told badly
Random musings
Vinyl record geekery
Stolen Recipes
Web comics
and anything else i feel like sharing.

I'm not really expecting anyone to read this, but if you are, enjoy!
